Freehold Man Indicted on Attempted Burglary of Downtown Restaurant
He was allegedly found trying to break into the refrigerator behind the Metropolitan Cafe.
A Monmouth County grand jury indicted Darren Whiting, 44, of Freehold on one count of attempted burglary.
According to the , Whiting allegedly tried to pry off the lock of the rear refrigerator and storage facility at the .
Police documents say Whiting was found with burglar tools including a backpack filled with 3 types of wrenches and wire cutters. Whiting was allegedly using these tools to try to break-in when he was found by Nicholas Iozzi.
