Freehold Residents Indicted on Home Burglary

Two Freehold men were indicted this week on multiple charges surrounding a home burglary.

A Monmouth County grand jury indicted two local residents on two charges including the burglary of a Borough home.

According to the indictment, Daniel Thorpe, 51, of Haley Street, and Darren Whiting, 44, of Bond Street, unlawfully entered a Borough home without permission, and with the intent to commit an offense.

Once arrived to the scene, Whiting allegedly resisted arrest, while Thorpe allegedly provided police with false information.

In addition to the burglary charge both men received, Thorpe was also charged with hindering apprehension of oneself, a fourth-degree crime, and Whiting was charged with resisting arrest, a third-degree crime.

The indictment states that these incidents took place in January.
