Freehold Teen Charged in Jackson Burglaries

A Freehold resident has been arrested in Jackson after police got reports of man breaking into a car on Harmony Hill Court.

According to a press release on the Jackson Police Department’s Facebook page, the resident woke on Sunday at 5:27 a.m. to find his car being burglarized. The resident detained a man, identified as Nicholas Vincent, 18, after a brief struggle. A second subject reportedly got away during the struggle.

The Jackson Police reported that a search was conducted for the second person but they were not located. A vehicle, believed to have been used at the time of the burglaries, was impounded at that time.

Vincent has been linked to four car burglaries in the township and was charged with burglary to a motor vehicle, according to police. He was brought to Ocean County Jail after being unable to post bail.
