Freehold Township Police Blotter: DWI Charge for Resident Who Struck Hydrant

Arrests and incidents reported by the Freehold Township Police Department.

The Freehold Township Police Department recorded the following arrests for the week of Wednesday, Feb. 16 through Wednesday, Feb. 23: nine for shoplifting and 17 for contempt of court.

Other Notable Arrests and Incidents

  • Adriana Patino and Natalia Salazar, both of Queens, NY, were arrested on Wednesday, Feb. 16 on a charge of shoplifting at the Freehold Raceway Mall. Police say the women were in possession of over $2,000 in stolen property from several stores in the mall. The women were also charged with possession of an anti-shoplifting device. The women were remanded to Monmouth County Correctional Institution and bail was set at $16,000.
  • On Wednesday, Feb. 16, Michael Kuchar, 25, of Freehold, was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia, which police identified as hypodermic needles. Kuchar was also arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute. Lt. John Todd was the arresting officer.
  • David Shinners, 24, of Freehold, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated on Feb. 20. At 3 a.m., Shinners’ vehicle stuck a fire hydrant near his home on Coachman Drive North. The car rolled over and Shinners had to be extricated from the vehicle, police said. He was taken to Jersey Shore Medical Center for treatment. Shinners was also charged with reckless driving and failure to wear a seatbelt.
