A Monmouth County grand jury voted to indict a Freehold woman after she allegedly failed to report income she received while obtaining benefits from the Monmouth County Division of Social Services.

Selina Ashby, 49, of Stuart Drive, was indicted on one charge of theft by deception on Tuesday, Sept. 18. The indictment states that Ashby obtained thousands of dollars from the Monmouth County Division of Social Services because she purposefully failed to report income received from Uninsurance Employment Benefits.

According to her indictment, Ashby received a total of $14,002 from Oct. 1, 2008 through Sept. 30 2009, and Jan. 10, 2010 through March 31, 2010.

Strange. A woman I know lived with no income for at least 3 years and was denied anything from Social Services. Finally, they saw fit to give her food stamps. She found a part time job that pays minimum wages and notified Social Services. Guess what......they took her food stamps away. This woman collects $14,000........how?????
