FTPD Charge Pennsylvania Man with Forgery

Man allegedly attempted to obtain $300 after attempting to pass a fraudulent check.

A Pennsylvania man faces multiple charges after he allegedly attempted to forge a traveler’s check while in Freehold Township.

Jonathan A. Fernandez, 20, of Ashley Pa., has been charged with forgery, theft by deception and fleeing the scene of a crime. Freehold Township Police arrested Fernandez on Monday, Jan. 7. According to his complaint warrant, Fernandez attempted to receive $300 in cash after passing a fraudulent check.

The complaint warrant further explains that Fernandez fled from a uniformed police officer while the officer was lawfully arresting him and conducting a police investigation.

Fernandez has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $3,000 bail for all three charges.
