Howell Man Charged With DWI

Police: Breathalyzer indicted a BAC of 0.17 for Steven M. Lipman.

On Tuesday, June 7 at 12:28 a.m., Freehold Borough Ptl. Nicholas Iozzi saw a vehicle crossing over the double yellow line and traveling 50 mph along a stretch of W. Main Street with a speed limit of 25 mph.

Iozzi followed the vehicle as it made several turns, including an illegal left onto E. Main Street, according to Freehold Borough police. Iozzi stopped the car on Spring Street and spoke to the driver, Steven M. Lipman, 27, of Howell. Iozzi detected the odor of alcohol on Lipman’s breath and administered field sobriety tests, which Lipman failed, according to the Freehold Borough police report.

Lipman was taken back to police headquarters; a breathalyzer test revealed a BAC of 0.17.
