Irvington Resident Faces Credit Card Theft, Fraudulent Use Charges

Charges stem from incidents in Freehold, Newark and Woodbridge among other places.

An Irvington resident faces a three-count indictment for incidents involving use of a stolen credit card at locations around the state including Freehold.

The first count of the indictment against 33-year-old Shannon Stevens is for one count of third degree theft by deception. According to the indictment between Sept. 1 and Oct. 31, 2012 Shannon is alleged to have obtained cash or merchandise belonging to an individual as well as Wells Fargo and other merchants in Freehold, Woodbridge Irvington and Newark valued in excess of $500.

Stevens also faces one count of fourth-degree credit card theft for allegedly taking a Capital One Credit Card without the cardholders consent with the intent to use it. By allegedly using the credit card, Shannon also faces one count of third degree fraudulent use of a credit card.
