Lightning Strike Causes Home Fire in Morganville

The lightning storm Thursday night caused a roof fire on Amagansett Drive.

Lightning struck a home in Morganville around 9:15 p.m. on Thursday, causing a roof fire at a home on Amagansett Drive.

Both the Morganville and Roberstville fire houses responded, along with first aid teams. Residents were home, but no injuries were reported on the scene.

Robertsville Chief Keith Badler said the lightning struck the rear peak of the roof, causing a fire in the eaves.

The fire was contained to one area, and Badler said it was knocked down in about 30 minutes.
