Man Accused of Passing Counterfeit Money at Acme

Highland Lakes man was also charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance.

John R. Ioime, 19, of Highland Lakes, was arrested and charged with forgery and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in Freehold Township on Sept. 15, according to police records.

Ioime allegedly tried to use counterfeit U.S. currency at Acme, 3241 Route 9 North. Ioime was also accused of being in possession of a substance believed to be heroin, according to the arrest warrant. He faces an additional charge of possession of a prescription drug without a valid prescription for allegedly having three pills believed to be methadone.

His bail was set at $15,000.
