Man Charged with Stong-Arm Robbery of Designer Jeans

The man tried to steal sixteen pairs of jeans from a Freehold store.

arrested an Asbury Park man who allegedly got into a physical altercation as he tried to steal designer jeans from a Freehold store.

According to the complaint warrant, Kenneth Burke, 41, allegedly hit a person in the chest resulting in bleeding and scratches as he attempted to run from the store. Burke allegedly tried to steal sixteen pairs of designer jeans worth $1,904.

Burke was charged with committing a strong-armed robbery and shoplifting.

The warrant also said that Burke has an extensive prior history of commercial retail theft.

Burke’s bail is set at $50,000. He is set to appear in court on March 20 at 8:00 a.m.
