Manalapan Resident, 96, Killed in Route 522 Crash

The accident occurred near the Manalapan Senior Center.

Manalapan police are investigating a car accident that killed a 96-year-old last week.

Authorities responded to the scene of the serious Route 522 crash near the Manalapan Senior Center on Tuesday, Feb. 11 shortly before 11 a.m., according to Manalapan Township Police Department Cpt. Michael Fountain.

A 96-year-old Manalapan woman and a 49-year-old Englishtown man were involved in the accident. The woman was transported to CentraState Medical Center in Freehold Township where she was later pronounced dead.

Gordon's Corner Fire Company, MONOC and Englishtown Manalapan First Aid Squad also responded.

The accident is being investigated by the Monmouth County Serious Crash Accident Reconstruction Team (SCART) and Patrolman Kevin McIntosh of the Manalapan Township Police Department.
