Neptune Man Accused of Stolen Card Shopping Spree

Allegedly used stolen credit card throughout Monmouth County.

A Neptune resident faces a long list of charges after a Monmouth County grand jury handed up a 13 count indictment tied to a shopping spree around Monmouth County.

Leroy H. Drayton, 25, faces one count of fourth-degree credit card theft for allegedly taking an American Express card from a person in Freehold on or about June 9 of this year. He faces more counts of fraudulent use and attempted fraudulent use of a credit card for allegedly using the American Express card at different stores.

Between June 10 and June 14, Drayton allegedly used or tried to use the card in places like A&J Sneakers in Neptune, McDonald’s in Neptune, Journey’s, The Finish Line and Champs in Freehold as well as Total Fashions in Asbury Park, Walmart in Neptune, Levi’s in Tinton Falls, Burger King in Eatontown and the Target in Asbury Park.

Drayton also faces one count of third-degree theft by deception for allegedly obtaining merchandise and food valued at more than $500 during that time in the various municipalities.
