New York Resident Faces Identity Theft Charges in Freehold

Charges stem from incident at Lord & Taylor in August.

A Manhattan resident came to Freehold over the summer and ended up getting in trouble with local law enforcement according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office. Donnell Wigfall, whose age is unknown faces a three count indictment for charges including attempted theft by deception and identity theft.

The first count is for fourth degree false statement made in procuring the issuance of a credit card. According to the indictment on or about August 30, 2013 Wigfall is alleged to have been found in Freehold Township trying to get a credit card from the Lord & Taylor store at the Freehold Raceway Mall by giving a different identity.

Wigfall also faces one count of third degree attempted theft by deception for trying to get more than $500 worth of jewelry from the store at that time. The final count is for third degree impersonation- theft of identity for using someone else’s identity to attempt to obtain the items from the story.
