NWS Earle Announces Training for This Week

Exercises to begin Monday and run through June 22.

If you hear a big bang this afternoon, don't worry!

Residents living near Naval Weapons Station Earle may hear some loud explosions coming from the base due to scheduled training exercises this week. 

Working with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) "Explosives and Explosives Effects training," will be held in the area starting Monday. Michael K. Brady, Earle's Public Affairs Officer said in a statement that the exercises are expected to run through June 22.

Brady said detonations could be heard during the exercises which are expected to be held mostly during the afternoon. However, he added, "weather conditions may dictate scheduling them for the morning on some days."
