Ocean Man Arrested on Shoplifting Charges
Man was arrested in Freehold Township with allegedly $225 worth of stolen clothing and accessories.
charged an Ocean man with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphernalia after he allegedly stole over $200 worth of merchandise from a Township store.
Francis A. Slater, 34, of Ocean, allegedly concealed men’s clothing and accessories worth $225 on Thursday, Aug. 9. Slater was also allegedly found to be in possession of two pipes, a straw, and anti-shoplifting devices.
According to the complaint warrant, the drug paraphernalia found on Slater is commonly used to ingest cocaine, heroin, and marijuana. The anti-shoplifting device was allegedly discovered on Slater while he was in J.C. Penney, the device consisted of snips and a screwdriver.

Slater faces a total of three charges following the Thursday incident. He has been remanded to the on $3,500 bail.
