Police: Freehold Township Residents Report Black Bear Sighting
According to Freehold Township Police, the bear was not located by patrol.
Freehold Township Police responded to the area of Battleview Orchards on Wemrock Road Thursday night, after neighbors called in reporting a black bear sighting.
Freehold Township Police Detective Sgt. Jerry Kiwit said that the call about the bear sighting came into the department around 6:40 p.m. Patrols responded to the area, but the bear was not located.
The Jersey Shore Hurricane News Facebook page posted about the bear sighting stating that the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife was notified.
