Police: Resident Uses Handgun to Force ATM Withdrawals

According to the complaint warrant a Freehold Borough man used a handgun while robbing multiple people.

A Freehold Borough resident faces a total of six weapon and robbery charges after he allegedly used a handgun to scare people into giving him money. 

Jordan Ellis, 20, of Jackson Street, was arrested following multiple alleged robberies. According to Ellis’ complaint warrant, On March 8 Ellis committed the act of robbery by threatening to harm a man and his family members if the victim did not make a withdraw from a Freehold Borough ATM. 

In January, Ellis allegedly brandished a black handgun on four different occasions. On Jan. 16 and Jan 23, Ellis is accused of forcing two men into withdrawing money from their bank accounts. On Jan. 14 Ellis allegedly pushed a man and demanded money from him by displaying a black handgun.

Ellis faces a total of six charges for the alleged robberies. He has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on $300,000 bail.
