Police Say Freehold Township Abduction Report 'Unfounded'

All parties located safely after initial reports.

A report of an attempted child abduction is unfounded, according to the Freehold Township Police Department.

Initial emergency reports had suspects on Iroquois Drive bringing a 12- or 13-year-old male into a car against his will, according to the Jersey Shore Hurricane News Network on Facebook. Lt. Lawrence Loos of the Freehold Township Police Department said the reported incident was nothing more than horseplay among a group of friends that was misinterpreted by the witnesses.

Loos said the proper procedures were followed by witnesses and law enforcement and that everything was resolved with a "harmless," solution.
