Queens Man Accused of Using Counterfeit Money at Freehold Stores

Man allegedly used counterfeit $100 bills to buy products from stores at the Freehold Raceway Mall store.

A Queens man faces seven charges after he allegedly used counterfeit money to buy goods from multiple Freehold Raceway Mall stores.

Freehold Township Police arrested Juan Arango, 31, of 57th Avenue, on Sunday after he allegedly used money he knew was counterfeit at Charlotte Russe, Express, Bath & Body Works, Wet Seal and Victoria Secret.

According to Arango’s complaint warrant, he used a counterfeit $100 bill at each store and purchased a total of 12 items.

In addition to using the counterfeit money, Arango allegedly possessed a false permanent resident card, and a folded up dollar bill concealing a white powder-like substance believed to be cocaine.

Arango has been remanded to the Monmouth County Correctional Institution (MCCI) on a total of $17,500 bail for all seven charges.
