Santa Train Pulls into Freehold This Weekend

Santa substitutes his sleigh and elves for a freight train, PBA workers, and Conrail workers at Freehold's annual Santa Train.

It’s back! The located on Throckmorton and Main will be the destination of the annual Santa Train on Saturday, Dec. 10.

“There is no charge for this event,” said Freehold Borough Sgt. Chris Colaner, who is organizing the 2011 Santa Train. “The PBA donates their time and cost of running the train that day and once they are done in Freehold they all go back to work.”

Santa will arrive in Freehold around noon on Saturday. Once he pulls into the station, Santa will be available for pictures and will be handing out toys and candy from the PBA to all the good boys and girls.

“It’s a really fun event, we have had perfect weather for the past 12 years and we hope for it to be nice again this year,” said Colaner.

The event will run until 2 p.m. when Santa’s temporary sleigh will travel onto Jamesburg and continue working as a freight train.
