Update: Freehold Man Charged with Selling Drugs Near Schools

More details released by the Freehold Borough Police department about the investigation and arrest.

completed a big drug bust after an investigation of a resident who was allegedly selling marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school.

, 28, after a narcotics detail led by Detective Chris Otlowski, The arrest resulted in the seizure of 18 ½ pounds of suspected marijuana, numerous items of drug paraphernalia, as well as approximately $6,300 from illegal narcotics sales.

The investigation came after the police department received numerous complaints from the community. According to a press release from Chief Roberts, neighbors were reporting suspicious traffic going to and from 719 Zlotkin Circle in the Briarwood West complex. The complains came through the Freehold Borough tip line, emails to detectives as well as residents giving reports at town meetings.

With the help of Patrolman Nick Iozzi, Detective Otlowski completed a surveillance detail, which led to the arrest. Earlier arrests of subjects for possession along with surveillance and other investigative details brought charges of possession, possession with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a school zone and distribution of marijuana.

After the arrest, a further investigation led Detective Otlowski and Officer Iozzi to request the assistance of the patrol squad that was working. Sgt. Sweetman along with Officers Schwerthoffer, Healey, Ruegger, and Santana came together to help in the investigation and search of Ousley’s apartment and seizure of narcotics, paraphernalia and money.

According to the complaint warrant, items taken from Ousley’s home included a large blue storage bin containing several vacuum packed clear bags containing a greenish vegetative matter believed to be marijuana, a large amount of packaging material, empty bags and a digital scale.

Ousley is charged with multiple counts of possession and distribution of marijuana within one thousand feet of a school. He is also charged with possession of over 50 grams of marijuana and intent to distribute, possession of paraphernalia and intent to distribute over 5 pounds, but less than 25 pounds, of marijuana.

Ousley was processed and later omitted to Monmouth County Jail in default of bail set by the Municipal Count Judge Basen at $130,000 with no 10 percent option.
