Borough Police Department Getting a New Car

Freehold Borough Council has recommended the approval of a new detective vehicle.

The is getting a new set of wheels.

At the Dec. 27 Borough Council meeting, a resolution was passed that determined the Freehold Borough’s police detective’s vehicle needed to be replaced. With sufficient funds left in the Police Department and Other Funds account, the approval of a new vehicle was passed by the council.

According to the resolution, the Freehold Borough Police Department and the Borough Administrator recommend this purchase because “it represents the best price available consistent with New Jersey State bidding procedures.”

The five present council members and Mayor Michael Wilson voted yes to the resolution. Councilman John Newman was absent for the meeting. 

The new detective vehicle will be purchased from Chas. S. Winner, Inc. in Cherry Hill. The total cost of the car is $26,743.69.
