Borough: Remove Debris From Curb

Keeping the curbs clear will allow water to flow freely into storm drains.

Freehold Borough officials are urging residents to remove debris and trash in advance of Hurricane Irene, which is expected to begin impacting the area late Saturday, Aug. 27.

Removal of debris will allow water to flow freely into catch basins and drains, according to the notice sent by the borough.

Monmouth County Department of Public Works & Engineering employees are clearing catch basins along county roads, but residents can also help by making sure storm drains in front of their homes are cleared of trash and debris, according to county spokesperson Laura Kirkpatrick.
