Bruce Springsteen to Stump for Obama in Ohio, Iowa

New Jersey rocker will take the stage for the Democratic campaign to help with close races in those states.

Bruce Springsteen will join the campaign trail Thursday for President Barack Obama in Northeast Ohio and Iowa.

The Boss will team up with former President Bill Clinton in Parma, Ohio then head on to Ames, Iowa later on that Thursday for another campaign concert and rally, according to Springsteen's website

Although, Springsteen previously said he would stay out of the 2012 election, the presidential race in these states is tightening, reported The New York Times

“His appearance will help with our get-out-the vote effort in these critical swing states, and we are thrilled with his ongoing support,” the Obama-Biden campaign manager, Jim Messina, said in a widely quoted statement.

According to a CNN Poll of Polls, Obama only has a 3 percent lead, at 50 percent, in Ohio among likely voters over Republican candidate Mitt Romney, at 47 percent.

Springsteen has openly supported the Democratic party in the past, performing for Obama's 2008 campaign and at his inauguration, as well as playing rallies for Sen. John Kerry of Massachusetts in 2004, reported Spin Magazine.

However, in an interview with The New Yorker, he said he was wary about joining a campaign again. “I did it twice because things were so dire,” Springsteen was quoted saying.

During the 2004 election, Springsteen drew an estimated 80,000 people to a campaign rally in Madison, Wi., according to the San Francisco Chronicle, helping Kerry win the state.

Why, Bruce - why? You proclaim that you care but you seem to overlook the growing economic crisis and therefore may have little concern about the economy, unemployment and the future of this great country. We love you for your singing and dedication to NJ so please think before you become politically motivated. This is not just directed towards you but to all who use the platform during a concert, which we gladly paid for, to discuss and promote their political agendas. Please Bruce - you are a great performer. Just continue to do what you do best - entertain us. Thank you.

Anything for a buck. Two capitalists in action! Monica Lowinsky's new book out any day now. Claims Clinton harbors weird sexual fantasies! Clinton refers to Hillary as a "cold fish" in the book. Be careful, Brucie, bad things happen to people who get close to the Clintons and the Kennedy Klan. You better stick with your #1 fan, NJ Gov. Chris Christie, much safer.

Clinton's former campaign manager, Dick Morris, is predicting a "Romney Landslide" in the upcoming election. Morris even includes NJ going for Romney!!! Bold prediction.

He,or his accountants, pay his property taxes or his homes would have been sold in a Sherriff's sale. He,and many other weathy "farmers",take advantage of a law that allows they to pay a lower tax rate for the portions of their property that is used for "farming." Many of the politians, from both parties,do the same. They are the ones who make the laws,so don't count on it changing any time soon.

Exactly. His profession is "entertainer."You either like him for his talent or you don't.He;s entitled to be vocal about the candidates and causes he supports. But, who in their right mind would vote for anyone just because Bruce,or any other celebrity, endorses him or her.

Who cares what a 63 year old song writer with a barely passable voice has to say? Honestly I grew up in the late 70's early 80's and I never understood people going crazy over him. I mean he's okay. He reminded me of Bob Dylan...who also did not sing well most of the time (besides Lay Lady Lay).

That's too bad for you, really. You don't even know what you're missing.

I so agree. Wish he would keep politics out of it.

The best part? It has a roomy interior but is still small enough to be brought on a plane as a carry on. http://www.mbtshoesukshoes.com/ http://www.burchshoes.com/ http://www.tory-flats.com http://www.bagsforgirl.com/ http://www.borsegucci-italia.com http://www.gucciuk-bags.com http://www.gucci-outlethandbags.com/ http://www.gucci-forsale.com/ http://www.louboutin-shoescheap.com/ http://www.hermesbagssale-outlet.com/ http://www.christian-louboutinoutlets.com/ http://www.christian-louboutinoutlets.com/
