Freehold Boro Honors Pop Warner Champs (Video)

Congratulations to the Jr. Pee Wee Cheer and the Jr. Midget Football for winning titles for the Freehold Pop Warner Program.

The Freehold Borough Council recognized members of the Freehold Pop Warner program who became champions this past season at their regular meeting on March 19 at .

Both the Jr. Pee Wee Cheerleading team and the Jr. Midget Football team brought home titles to the Freehold Pop Warner program in 2011.

The cheer team received this honor for becoming the 2011 Jersey Shore Champs and claiming a national title at the competition held in Walt Disney World in Orlando Florida.

Counciman Jaye Simms has a niece on the cheer team and said she was so proud of her win that, “She did not take off her medal for a week!”

Councilman Kevin Kane presented each member of the Freehold Pop Warner Jr. Pee Wee Novice Cheerleading team with a certificate of excellence.

“We hereby express our sincere appreciation for your outstanding performance and exceptional commitment to teamwork,” said Kane as he read the certificate out loud.

The council also recognized the Freehold Pop Warner Jr. Midget Football team for becoming the 2011 Garden State Champs.

Each member of the football team received a certificate of athletic achievement at the meeting.
