Freehold Borough Extends Recycling Contact with DeLisa Demolition

The contract will be extended for one more year; this is the borough's second and last extension of the contract.

DeLisa Demolition will continue to be responsible for refuse and recycling collection services in Freehold Borough over the next year.

During the Monday, April 1 Freehold Borough Council meeting, the council unanimously agreed to pass a resolution that would continue the contract with DeLisa at the 2011 rate.

“In 2009 we had a three-year agreement with DeLisa for refuse and recycling. In that contact there was a provision to extend it for one-year periods,” said Councilman George Schnurr. “On a personal note, I think these guys do a great job in town for us. To be able to keep pricing consistent for the fifth year now is a great job by our Borough Administrator.”

According to the resolution, Freehold Borough entered into a three-year contract with DeLisa Demolition in June 2009. The specifications of the agreement allowed the borough two, one-year extensions at the same price, terms and conditions of the third year of the agreement.

“If you recall, in 2009 when we adopted this we really had a good price from them. More service for less money so I am glad too, I think they are one of the best that we have ever had,” added Councilwoman Sharon Shutzer.
