Kane Named Freehold Borough Council President

Councilman Kevin Kane will serve as Freehold Borough Council President in 2013.

In addition to a new member, the Freehold Borough Council now has a new Council President. 

Kevin Kane was elected to the position of Council President for 2013. The announcement of Kane’s new position came during the Jan. 6 Freehold Borough Council reorganization meeting.

Kane has been a Councilman for Freehold Borough since 2001. In addition to serving as Council President, Kane will also chair the Health and Welfare Committee, the Public Safety Committee and the Community Events Committee in 2013.

During the comment section of the reorganization meeting, 2012 Council President Sharon Shutzer, along with the rest of the elected officials, congratulated Kane on his new position.

“Congratulations to Kevin Kane on his election to Council President, we are indeed in good hands,” said Shutzer.
