Mayor Ammiano Sworn in

Anthony J. Ammiano began his third term as Mayor and David Salkin took the oath of office to become Township's Deputy Mayor at the Jan. 6, 2012 Reorganization meeting

The rotation continues for the . At the Township reorganization meeting, on Friday, Jan. 6, Committeeman Anthony Ammiano was sworn in as Freehold Township’s mayor for the third time.

In front of a packed board room audience, the committee elected Ammiano to become Mayor. Former Mayor, David Salkin gave up his chair while Amminano, took the oath of office surrounded by his family.

“I would hand you the gavel in a big ceremonial thing, but it’s not up here, but you can have the big chair,” said Salkin.

Amminano’s first role as acting mayor was for the committee to elect a Deputy Mayor. After all nominations from the committee, Salkin was sworn in as Deputy Mayor surrounded by his family. 

The Freehold Township committee will meet again on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012.
