I have been a homeowner since 1998 and parent of three Borough students (Michael - age 16, Matthew - age 11, and Luke - age 7). My wife Linda and I have become progressively more involved in school affairs with Linda as former PTO president, my work as a district substitute teacher and our participation on several school committees (i.e.: 2005 Ad Hoc Committee for Facilities Usage, 2006 Action Team for Partnerships, and 2008 Citizens‚ Academy). This culminated in my election to the Board of Education in 2009 where I have served on several ad hoc committees of the board including the Negotiations Committee, Strategic Planning Committee and Chairman of the Community Relations Committee. I am a firefighter with the Freehold Fire Department over 12 years and a member of the Medical Reserve Corps of the Monmouth County Health Department. I have coached in the Youth Soccer Association of Freehold at its inception, I have been a coach and board member of Freehold Little League Baseball, and teach religious instruction at St. Rose School. Freehold Borough is a unique picture of diversity, a society with its heritage confronted by an evolving culture of new residents converging from surrounding metropolitan regions and a burgeoning Mexican community. As a transplanted New York City resident from a culturally diverse family, particularly Italian and Hispanic, I can bring forth a relevant perspective on borough issues. A physician associate with 29 years experience and a doctor of podiatric medicine since 1990, my professional experience increases my ability to problem-solve and deal with diverse populations. Particularly, I have completed a fellowship program of the NYS Department of Health. This program provided training and experience in governmental and political issues of medically disenfranchised and special needs populations. This effectively can translate into a fresh and relevant perspective with our own community concerns.
