Nor'easter Expected To Hit Monmouth On Wednesday

Coastal Monmouth could get 4-6 inches, while inland areas could get 6-8.

A potent, fast-moving nor'easter will hit Monmouth County Wednesday into Thursday, according to local officials and the National Weather Service.

Primary concerns with this system will be strong northeast winds, high surf, and at least minor coastal flooding on Thursday morning. Snow is also expected.

A coastal low-pressure system is predicted to lumber up the coast during the early portion of the week and intensify when it reaches the Middle Atlantic States.

However, the National Weather Service’s GFS model points the low pressure system going out to sea, keeping snow amounts low.

As a result, the coastal areas of Monmouth could receive 4-6 inches of snow because some of the precipitation could fall as rain. Areas farther inland could get 6-8 inches.
