Update From Mayor Wilson on Power Outages

JCP&L reports electric will be restored to most by end of week.

Freehold Borough Mayor Michael Wilson released the following statement through the municipality's email notification systerm:

Freehold Borough sympathizes with those residents who lost power during the recent hurricane. We understand that this powerful storm has wreaked havoc with many of you. We have been in frequent contact with JCP&L and their officials informed us that a few thousand Borough residents remain without power. As you know, many other communities are still without power. JCP&L officials have indicated that they are doing everything humanly possible to completely restore power to all of their service area. JCP&L officials believe that they will be able to have power restored by week’s end for most customers, including Freehold Borough. There is a remote chance that some customers in their service area will not be restored until the beginning of next week.  In fact, crews from other states have been dispatched to our area to assist in this mission. Residents are encouraged to call JCP&L at 1-800-662-3115 for updates. My staff will continue to monitor developments with JCP&L. Thank you.

Mayor Michael Wilson
