Local Youth Runner Wins National Championship in 3,000 Meters

This past weekend RTC Training's Caitlin O'Hare and Jane Mallach competed in the USA Track and Field National Youth Championships in Maryland.  O'Hare, 13, finished the weekend as the National Champion in the 3,000 meters in a meet record 10:29 and finished third overall in the 1500 in 4:58 for 13 and 14 year olds.  Mallach, 11, was just as impressive finishing 6th overall in her age group in the 3,000 meters in a time of 11:37.  As a result, RTC finished the weekend with three individual All Americans and a National Champion.  To watch Caitlin win the 3,000 meters you can click here - http://www.usatf.tv/gprofile.php?mgroup_id=45365&mgroup_event_id=5517&do=videos&video_id=106917
