Belmar School Gets Helping Hand from Freehold Intermediate

The Freehold Intermediate School donated a portion of proceeds from a recent fundraiser to the Belmar Elementary School.

The Freehold Intermediate School (FIS) has given a helping hand to a Monmouth County school greatly affected by Hurricane Sandy.

Following the success of the annual Winter Festival, the FIS PTO decided to donate a little more than 10-percent of the proceeds from the fundraiser to the Belmar Elementary School.

“A list of schools and their needs were posted on the NJSBA website,” said FIS PTO President Jill Schiff.  “We agreed on Belmar as they will be using the money much like we would as a PTO.”

According to Schiff, helping families devastated by the Hurricane Sandy exhausted the money from the Belmar Elementary School PTO. The $500 donated by FIS, will go towards an assembly and field trip for the children.
