Bruce Patrick Joins Freehold Borough Board of Education

Sitting board members James Keelan and Daniel Xavier were also sworn into new terms at reorganization meeting.

The Freehold Borough Board of Education welcomed a new face in Bruce Patrick as well as two returning board members, James Keelan and Daniel Xavier, during its reorganization meeting on Monday.

The three men were sworn into three-year terms of office. In the school district elections on Tuesday, April 27, Keelan received 368 votes, Patrick 352, and Xavier 346 in an uncontested race. Voters also passed the tax levy by a vote of 341 to 220.

Patrick replaces Adam Reich, who first joined the Board of Education in April 2004 and did not seek reelection this year.

The governing body unanimously approved Annette Jordan to another term as board president and Ron Reich as vice president.

The governing body also made the following professional appointments for the 2011-2012 school year: Gerard Stankiewicz, of Samuel Klein and Company, as auditor; the firm of Cleary, Giacobbe, Alfieri, Jacobs, LLC to serve as board attorney; the firm of Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer, P.A. to serve as special education counsel; the firm of McCarter & English to serve as bond counsel; the firm of Fraytak, Veisz, Hopkins, Duthie, PC to serve as architect of record; and the firm of Energy for America to serve as engineer.

The board also recognized Adam Reich’s years of service with a proclamation.
