Candidates Sought for School Board Vacancy

The Freehold Borough Board of Education is looking to fill a position following Kevin Tennant's resignation.

The Freehold Borough Board of Education is searching for qualified candidates to fill a vacancy on the governing body. The board accepted member Kevin Tennant's resignation during its regular meeting at Park Avenue Elementary School on Monday. The term of the position runs until April 2013, at which time it will be placed on the ballot for the annual school board election.

School board members must be registered voters who have lived in the district for at least a year. They must be able to read and write, and cannot hold a contract with or claim against the school district, according to press release from the Board of Education.

People who want to be considered for the board should send a letter of interest and resume to Patrick S. DeGeorge, Business Administrator/Board Secretary at , Freehold, New Jersey 07728 by Friday, Dec. 9 at noon.  Interviews will be conducted at the regularly scheduled public meeting on Dec. 12.
