CentraState Foundation Names Scholarship Winners

Students and employees from around the area received scholarships from the CentraState Healthcare Foundation.

Over the past eight years the CentraState Healthcare Foundation has awarded close to $200,000 in scholarships to help local residents continue their academic career at the college level.

The scholarships are given to students looking to pursue a career in healthcare and employees looking to continue their education in the field. This year Freehold Township students Andrew Freire and Avish Jain along with Alexander Wang of Manalapan High School were awarded $1,000 Health Professions Scholarships.

There were also five more scholarships totaling $5,000 for students in the Freehold Regional Medical Science Program at Freehold High School. Of those winners Marboro’s Vikas Daggubati was awarded the Band Aid Open Scholarship, Victor Loehle of Morganville received the DCH Toyota Scholarship and Freehold’s Aidan Bhattacharya received the Lawrence Wagner Memorial Scholarship. Kajal Sharma, also of Morganville received the All Jersey Janatorial Scholarship and Gregory Vitone of Manalapan was awarded the Anthony Franklin Memorial Scholarship.

The foundation also gave several scholarships to current CentraState employees. Jessica Zizza of Morganville and Seenamma Chundamala of Freehold were named winners of the Selma Lopatin Nursing Scholarship. Hanna Gerke, of Freehold, Richard Enzerillo, of Howell and Jacqueline Cook of Jackson were named the winners of the Rita Ann Zupa Memorial Scholarship Fund. Enzerillo and Tara Bosco of New Egypt were also named the winners of the Matthew Trancho Memorial Scholarship and Teresa Duffy of Red Bank received the 2013 Kovats Gerontology and Healthcare Management Memorial Scholarship.

The Foundation also announced winners of the Applewood Estates Non-Clinical Employee Scholarship for employees or children of employees at Applewood Estates. The winners Nicolette Ruffler of Jackson, Kimberly Reynolds of Howell, Alexandra Ruffler of Jackson, Samantha Mohammed of Freehold, Katherine Torres-Powalie of Old Bridge and Samantha Beck of Millstone. Tara Bosco of New Egypt was also named the recipient of the Anna C. Stewart Smythe Memorial Nursing Scholarship.
