Freehold Borough BOE Announces Reorganization Date

Reorganization meeting will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 3.

The Freehold Borough Board of Education (BOE) is getting ready to hold their first ever January reorganization meeting.

Each year, the BOE welcomes the winners of the BOE election to the board during their reorganization meeting. In past years, BOE elections took place in April, making the annual reorganization meeting occur during the summer months. Following a Jan. 23 meeting, a decision was made to move the BOE elections to November along with the general election to save the district money.

“Regarding the movement of the election from April to November, the New Jersey State Board of Elections has said it appears that the districts can anticipate a cost savings by moving the election to November, where those not moving to November can see an increase in election costs,” said Freehold Borough BOE President Annette Jordan in a previous Patch article.
