Freehold Learning Center Competes for $50K Grant

With a mouse click or a text message, Freehold residents can help win a $50,000 grant.

The elementary school is competing in the Clorox Company’s Power a Bright Future grant competition. The Freehold Learning Center is seeking a grant to fund the purchase of iPads for Kindergarten classrooms to improve literacy skills. iPads and educational apps will be used to help the school’s Spanish-speaking population gain greater fluency with the English language, according to the details of the program proposed by the school.

Over 1,600 schools from around the country are competing for five grants: a grand prize winner will receive $50,000 and four other grant proposals will receive $25,000.

Individuals can vote for the Freehold Learning Center proposal once per day through Dec. 9 from the Power a Bright Future Web site or by texting clorox2084 to 44144.
