Freehold Student Athletes Commit to Division I Schools

Freehold Township High School and Freehold High School student athletes will sign letters of intent today.

A total of 12 student athletes in Freehold Township High School (FTHS) and Freehold High School (FHS) will participate in National Signing Day today and will officially commit to play at their respective universities. This contract is binding.

From FTHS, the seven following student athletes will sign their letters of intent today:

  • Manny Maragoto:Football - Monmouth University
  • Tara Surick: Girls Soccer - Quinnipiac University
  • Meg Kowalski: Girls Soccer - University Maryland Baltimore County
  • Gabrielle Davis: Girls Soccer - Wagner University
  • Sydney Weise: Field Hockey - Virginia Commonwealth University
  • Jordyn White: Softball - Syracuse University
  • Kelsey Murphy: Girls Lacrosse - Central Connecticut State University

FTHS will hold a Signing Day ceremony today at 2:15 p.m.

The following five student athletes from FHS will sign their letters of intent today:

  • Chelsi Bender: Soccer - Mississippi State
  • Delaney Boyer: Soccer - Caldwell College
  • Sydney Duven: Field Hockey - Sacred Heart
  • Ryan Kasten: Football - Colgate
  • Gabrielle Romanowski: Softball - Rutgers

Due to midterms, FHS will have a signing ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 12 to recognize the athletes who signed letters of intent today.

According to Jerrilynn Acevedo, Supervisor of Extracurricular Activities at FHS, the following students signed letters of intent in Fall 2012.

  • Camerin Spahn: Basketball - NJIT
  • Jason Lundy: Baseball - Fordham University
  • David Yanez: Baseball - NJIT
