Freehold Township Education Foundation Holds Successful Fundraiser

"A Night on Broadway"raises over $17,000 for the students in Freehold Township.

An entertaining evening of great food and dancing to the sounds of the Big Band era was held recently at the in Freehold to raise money to benefit the students in Freehold Township schools. The Freehold Township Education Foundation (FTEF) hosted the event titled “A Night on Broadway,” which was attended by160 guests who enjoyed Big Band music provided by Mile High Entertainment, as well as a large collection of donated gift basket raffles and silent auction prizes. 

The FTEF is an all-volunteer non-profit foundation committed to enhancing educational excellence in Freehold Township Schools. The FTEF’s mission is to procure the funding initiatives necessary for innovative programs in science & technology, the environment, the arts, health and diversity for when traditional school budgets fall short.

Master of Ceremonies James Gregorio from News 12 New Jersey led the celebration and recognition of the schools in Freehold Township.  The evening opened with an inspiring performance by Stardust, a show choir from  led by teacher Jesse Ryan. The foundation was pleased to accept a resolution recognizing the work of the FTEF which was presented by Assemblywoman Caroline Casagrande on behalf of the New Jersey State Legislature. Dignitaries from the Township Committee and the Freehold Township Board of Education in attendance acknowledged the contributions of the foundation including the recent grant awards made on behalf of the William J. Setaro Building Blocks for Innovation Grant Program.

The event, which raised over $17,000 was chaired by FTEF trustee Sue Cavallaro. The money raised from the event will be used to fund ongoing grant programs through the foundation, such as the recently awarded "iCollaborate" and the "Battle of Monmouth:History-to-Go" grants.
