Lady Luck Shines on FTEF's Monte Carlo Night Fundraiser

Parents and supporters enjoy a night of fun and games to support Freehold Township Schools.

Freehold Township pre-K through grade 8 school students ended up being the big winners at the Freehold Township Education Foundation’s (FTEF) Monte Carlo Night Fundraiser.

Held at the Radisson on Nov. 16, over 150 guests turned out to support Freehold Township schools, and raised more than $20,000, surpassing last year’s gala event totals.

“We are thrilled to have the support of everyone who attended and the community sponsors that stepped up to help the schools,” said Lynne Stokes, Monte Carlo Night chairperson. “These proceeds will have a direct and positive effect in the classrooms.”

Guests were treated to a host of popular casino games which included Blackjack, Roulette, Craps, and Poker, and were then rewarded with scores of raffle baskets contributed by members of the community. In the limited 50/50 raffle, cash prizes totaling $7,750 were won with the grand prizewinner receiving $5,425.

Monte Carlo Night also served as the official launch of FTEF’s Connect Us! campaign. Displayed around the room were brochures that outlined the details of this bold initiative to raise $250,000 and transform every classroom in the Freehold Township School District into an interactive classroom.

“It is critically important that our students have access to the power of technology in the classroom,” said Gail Reilly, FTEF chairperson. “Technology is a cornerstone for 21st century learning, and we are committed to helping support that for every student in our district.”

“The goal of the Connect Us! campaign is to ensure that every classroom in the district has a mounted devices can transform the learning experience and learning environment for our children, offering a truly interactive classroom in a similar way that a conventional, fixed Smartboard allows but without the cost,” Connect Us! campaign chairperson Mark Breslauer said.

Investors Bank Foundation helped to give the FTEF a great head start toward their fundraising goal for Connect Us! when Investors Bank branch managers Shari Scaramuzzo and Edith Legg presented the FTEF with a big check in the amount of $15,000.

“The support of community-minded businesses and corporations like Investors Bank will be a critical factor in the success of this education campaign,” said Reilly. We are so grateful to Investors Bank for this tremendous contribution as we launch the ‘Connect Us!’ initiative.”

“Monte Carlo Night was a great time and a great success! FTEF’s dedication to the Freehold Township schools was evident tonight,” said Stokes. “It was a fun night out with friends while supporting our children’s schools. We look forward to next year!”
