Local Students Named for College Accomplisments

College students from Freehold named for accomplishments.

Freehold college students have been working hard in the classroom and over the summer. With the 2012-2013 school year quickly approaching, Freehold Patch wanted to highlight some accomplishments made by local students.

Dean’s List

  • Alexandra LaBarbara of Freehold, NJ, an Elementary Education major, has been named to the Dean's List for the spring 2012 semester in the College of Liberal Arts, Education, and Sciences at Rider University.
  • Curry College's Chief Academic Officer David Potash is pleased to announce that Freehold resident Jonathan Miller attained membership to the Curry College Dean's List for the Spring 2012 term.
  • Christine Dimino and Austin Starin of Freehold were named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2012 semester at Saint Joseph's University in Philadephia
  • Patrick Specchio of Freehold has been named to the spring 2012 Dean's List at Alvernia University in Reading, Pa. Specchio is a Senior Criminal Justice major at Alvernia and a graduate of Colts Neck High School.
  • Regina Gido of Freehold is among the 374 students who were named to the spring 2012 Dean's listat Caldwell College in Caldwell, according to Patrick Progar, Ph.D., BCBA-D, vice president for academic affairs at the college.

Summer Program Participants

  • Two local students took the first step in becoming Boilermakers by participating in the annual STAR program at Purdue University's West Lafayette campus. The participants included: Patrick Kelly and Joseph Calamusa of Freehold.  The Summer Transition, Advising and Registration (STAR) is Purdue's program for new undergraduate students to receive academic advice and create their initial course schedule.
  • Nicole Jackson and Ryan Jackson of Freehold Township High School were among the students who successfully completed a three-credit Science, Medicine and Math summer pre-college program at Caldwell College.
