School Report Cards Show Freehold, Freehold Township High Schools Above State Average
The high schools beat the state average on HSPAs and SATs.
Freehold High School and Freehold Township High School performed above the state average on High School Proficiency Assessment (HSPA) tests for language arts/literacy and mathematics, according to data from New Jersey Department of Education report cards for the 2009-2010 school year.
In Freehold High School, advanced proficiency on language arts/literacy portion of the HSPA rose 4.3 percent over the previous year to 32.4 percent, while advanced proficiency on the mathematics portion rose 5.4 percent to 41.1 percent. In Freehold Township, advance proficiency on the language arts/literacy HSPA rose 6.5 percent from the year before to 30.4 percent, while the mathematics HSPA advanced proficiency rose one percent to 33.3 percent.
Freehold High School’s mean SAT scores saw a dip from 1642 the previous year to 1579 in 2009-2010 in the combined math, verbal and essay tests. Freehold Township High School’s SAT scores rose from 1528 to 1567.

Freehold Regional High School District's spending per pupil rose $1,331 from the year before to $14,807, which is $2,130 below the state spending average.
