Thank a Freehold Educator During Teacher Appreciation Week

Here is a list of creative gift ideas to thank the teachers in your life.

Teacher Appreciation Week runs through Friday, May 10. If you're still looking for a way to thank the educators in Freehold, here are some suggestions to help you get an excellent grade on your next teacher appreciation gift.

1. Get a Cafe 360 or Starbucks gift card or a certificate to their favorite Freehold-area restaurant.

2. Give a gift card to Freehold Barnes & Noble or a new classroom game from Marbles: The Brain Store. Teachers love to be able to purchase new books or have new items for their classrooms.

3. Give a donation in their honor to their favorite charity. The Tara Hansen Foundation, named in honor of a Freehold Township teacher who died during childbirth, is just one of the many Freehold-based charities that could use your support. And if your kids have Mrs. Marcantonio, Ms. Rusterholz, Mrs. Peltzman Mrs. Gerula or Ms. Marshall as a teacher, consider a donation to their DonorsChoose.org projects.

4. Reduce his or her stress with a class pass to Freehold Yoga Center or Pilates on the Edge West or a training session at Work Out World, CentraState Fitness & Wellness Center, CrossFit ASC, Retro Fitness.

5. If the teacher likes to cook, get the parents to pool their money for a gift certificate for a cooking class at La Cipollina. (The next class is scheduled for May 26 and the menu includes cooking demonstrations for Italian sushi, Zuppa di Pesce and Italian cheesecake. Yum!)
