Township BOE Announces Community Forum

The Freehold Township School district will be holding a community forum to discuss technology in the classroom later this month.

To stay on top of constant technological advances, the Freehold Township School District has planned a crash-course in new technology for teachers, parents and community members.

At the Feb. 14 Freehold Township Board of Education meeting, Dr. Ross Kasun, Superintendent of the Freehold Township School District announced the upcoming community forum on technology.

“2020 Vision for Freehold Township Schools: A Community Forum” will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 29, at the Eisenhower Middle School Gym. The forum will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will cover information about trends and their impact on students. The following themes will also be discussed:

  • Globalization Technology
  • Changes in Knowledge
  • Teaching and Learning
  • Common Core State Standards
  • Required Assessments

“Education must provide the skills and knowledge students will need in the future. The Freehold Township School District is committed to providing our students with the highest quality education possible so that they will be prepared for their future roles in the community, the workplace and in the world,” said Kausen in a press release on the forum.

The press release also mentioned that the forum will serve to launch Kausen’s Strategic Planning Process for the district “2020 Vision”.
