Freehold Organization denies children from event

The tournament director for Freehold Soccer Leagues Frightfest XV Invitational Soccer Tournament held on Saturday, October 19, 2013, has denied several teams full of Twp. and Borough residents from playing in their tournament in a few weeks. The Director denied these teams without any consideration to the childrens feelings, instead made his decision with little merit, the very reason so many families are leaving FSL and exploring other venues. Teams denied by FSL are teams filled with boys and girls under the age of 11, who were looking forward to playing in this Halloween Event. Now, these children, will go to school or parties thinking they did something wrong and wonder why classmates, friends and even family get to play and they don't? FSL has lost sight of what they once were, a organization that provided residents a chance to play soccer for their town, now they deny residents a chance to play soccer because their not part of there club. Battle of Monmouth S.C. is also a Freehold based soccer league with the majority of their players being township residents. Seems your not welcome at a Event held on a township park, in the town we all pay taxes too, unless your part of FSL. Plans were discussed by the FSL Board to use a loan from the township of nearly one million dollars to pay for their turf fields, guess my tax paying dollars will be accepted then by FSL. Sad day for youth sports in Freehold Twp., Thank you FSL, way to think of the kids.
