Freehold Township Baseball Aims for Consistent Wins in 2013 Season

For the Freehold Township High School Varsity baseball team, spring cannot come fast enough.

April 1 marks the season opener for the Freehold Township Patriots and the team will kick off the season by taking on their rival, the Manalapan Braves.

According to Freehold Township Varsity baseball coach Todd Smith, Manalapan will be a big game for the Patriots not only because it is their season opener, but because Manalapan was the season group 4 state champions for the last two years.

“We always have tough battles with them [Manalapan],” explained Smith. “It is a tough game every single time we play them but we prepare for the season opener by trying to get better everyday in the pre-season.”
