Pop Warner Athletics Honored by Township Committee

At the Jan. 31 Freehold Township Committee meeting, Pop Warner Football and cheerleading's accomplishments were acknowledged

Freehold Township Pop Warner reigns supreme with Champion titles for the Junior Pee Wee Cheerleading Squad and the Junior Midget Football Team.

At the Jan. 31 , both teams were awarded by the Township with certificates of achievement for their titles.

The 2011 Pop Warner Junior Pee Wee Cheerleading Squad, led by Head Coach, Judy Douglas, were recognized by the Committee for their “Novice 2011 National Championship” title. The squad was also acknowledged for coming in 1st Place at the New Jersey Shore Championship, coming in 2nd place at the Regional Championship and for their 1st place ranking at the National Championship.

The Freehold Township Pop Warner Junior Midget Football Team was also awarded a certificate of achievement for their title of “2011 Garden State Bowl Championships”. In addition to becoming Bowl Championships, the Pop Warner Junior Midget Football team was named Regular Season Division II Champions (with an 8-0 record), and also currently hold the title of Division II New Jersey Shore Champion Game Runner-Ups. The 2011 Junior Midget Football Team was led by Coach, Stephen Brynes.

All coaches and athletes were awarded certificates of achievement from the Freehold Township Committee. The certificates express the pride felt by the Committee for the teams representing Freehold Township across New Jersey and across the Nation.
