Heat Advisory Issued to Start the Week

It was a perfect summer night to throw the windows open on Sunday with temperatures in the 80’s providing a break from the rain and heat of the weekend. The National Weather Service forecasts a week of high temperatures that figures to bake our area for the next few days.

A heat advisory has been issued from noon today until 8 p.m. tonight. The heat index could fly over 100 degrees today especially between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The high temperature without the heat index looks to be close to 94 degrees before dropping down to 72 degrees tonight.

Tuesday looks to be another hot day with a high near 95 and a low of 73 at night with a similar forecast through the rest of the week. The first real break from the heat is expected to come starting on Saturday when there is a 30 percent chance of rain with a high of 92 during the day and a low of 72 at night.

The chance of rain continues into Sunday but the high temperature finally dips into the 80’s at around 87 degrees according to the latest forecast.
